Cheryl Kerr (Finch)

CHERYL L. (KERR) FINCH - GEORGIA - Cheryl L. (Kerr) Finch, 43, passed away peacefully on Jan. 11, 2015, after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer. The daughter of Bruce and Ellen McKenzie Kerr, Cheryl was born Feb. 2, 1971, in Riverton, N.J. She and Michael Finch married on Oct. 5, 2002. Generous in spirit, creative, and adventuresome, Cheryl lived life to the fullest, making many caring, lifelong friends along the way. A talented musician who played several instruments, she was a lead singer for the Irish-Celtic band, The Croppies. Cheryl loved being in nature, camping, and singing around the campfire with family and friends. In 2001, Cheryl, often accompanied by her cherished canine companion, Maude, began work as a music coordinator for the Northwestern Counseling and Support Services in St. Albans. She became the Music Program Team Leader in 2004 and helped to develop the program which is now recognized nationally and internationally and has touched many lives. A resident of Georgia, Cheryl was the devoted wife of Michael Finch; and loving, fun-filled mother of twins, Madelyn and Lindsey (age 7), and Eliot (age 6). She is also survived by her mother, Ellen McKenzie Kentrus (Albert); brothers, John Kerr (Jeanne Trammell), and Bruce Kerr Jr. (Kimberly, and nephew, John, and niece, Sarah); aunt, Carol McKenzie; uncle, Stuart McKenzie (Emma); mother-in- law, Isabelle Wei Daley (Charles); and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Bruce Kerr.
